How We Got StartedThe Boss Botz got started in the year of the Vex Competition Gateway from 2011-2012. We started as a Boy Scout team of Troop 15 of Cold Spring, Minnesota. Aaron Barker a teacher at St. Cloud Technical and Community College was a part of starting Vex Robotics in Minnesota. He was an active adult leader within our troop, with his son Brady. We didn't know exactly what we were getting into so we just said, "Hey, lets do it." What Vex robotics has done for us is amazing. We have learned a vast amount of knowledge from engineering to leadership to teamwork, and not just within our own team, but with other teams as well. We have competed in three Vex competitions. Gateway (2011-2012), Sack Attack (2012-2013), Tossup (2013-2014). The next competition is Skyrise (2014-2015).
